Oceans Are the Heart of the Climate Crisis

Washington (Gallant Gold Media Hill Report | Analysis | July 17, 2019)
NoreenProfilePicHillReport-75 by Noreen Wise

The melting glaciers are an urgent wake up call for all of us to pay attention to global warming. The vast mountains of snow and ice that blanket our poles, are what has provided climate stability for 20 million years. Glaciers breaking apart and melting, immediately raises sea levels along the world’s coastlines, particularly the entire East Coast in the United States, flooding many major cities from Maine to Florida.

If anyone is having trouble visualizing the dramatic impact of rising sea levels, please visit Miami ASAP. Scientists have determined, that due Miami being built on to the lime rock, retaining walls can’t save Miami. It literally won’t survive global warming. In fact, it’s projected that if we maintain to current carbon emission trajectory, Southern Florida is guaranteed to disappear, the only question is “when?”

Ocean waters store carbon, which has always been considered a good thing. Scientists refer to this as carbon sink. The positive benefits unraveled however, when the oceans began to store too much carbon, due to the rise in carbon levels in the atmosphere from irresponsible carbon emitting daily habits and lifestyle.

  • Too much carbon in ocean waters, raises the ocean temperature
  • Warmer ocean waters, melt the polar glaciers from underneath
  • Less snow & ice, and more water cause the oceans to heat faster because dark blue ocean waters store the sun’s heat, while white snow and ice reflects it; an increase in water equal an increase in heat
  • An increase in the amount of water on the globe, also esults in an increase of moisture in the air, causing fiercer storms
  • This massively shifting balance between ice and water and atmospheric moisture, alters the jet streams
  • Without the reliable jest stream moving storms along and out of the way, storms & droughts hover for much longer periods resulting in massive flooding and prolonged droughts
  • Prolonged droughts leads to entire communities having to relocate, often to foreign countries, resulting in a refugee crisis
  • We’re seeing this right now in Central America… the thin section of land, rising sea levels on both coastlines, sustained drought conditions in the middle, all this created by US carbon emission excesses; citizens fleeing the unlivable land to our southern border and then stuffed into concentration camps
  • The military and CIA have both asserted that Global Warming is a major nation security threat, particularly when we are blamed for another countr’s economic woes that result from climate woes

It only takes a few of these events to open our eyes. But clearly in the past two years, we’ve seen the deadly weather systems destroy communities, and undermine our security.

It will take thousands of years to rebuild out glaciers, but we can immediately curb the rising ocean temperature by making different choices in 4 key areas for ourselves and our families, as well as speak with community leaders about using solar panels to run street and traffic lights as well as town buildings.

Climate Change Expert  Dr. Joseph Romm, an MIT alumni, has organized Climate Action choices into four categories:

  • Transportation: make the switch to Hybrid or EV autos; public transportation, walk, scooter, ride bikes
  • Home:  go solar, LED lightbulbs, turn out lights when leaving a room
  • Diet: change our eating habits, red meat & dairy increase our carbon footprint
  • Stuff: buying, storing and carting around “stuff”

Switching from our current home electricity source to solar, and from current gas guzzling cars to Hybrids & EV’s is as exciting and life-changing as switching from flip phones to iPhones, or from 3G to LTE. Huge game changer that we immediately love and never look back.

We can do this!

Mitch McConnell & Global Population | Climate Crisis

Washington (Gallant Gold Media Hill Report |Analysis | July 7, 2019)
NoreenByLine by Noreen Wise

In 1985, when Mitch McConnell began his career in the U.S. Senate, there was a global population of 4.85 billion, with 237.9 million, 4.9%, living in the United States.

America has 6% of the World’s land mass. And our carbon emissions rate in 1985 was 4,600 million metric tons, which was approximately 15% of the world’s total. So our carbon output is more than three times our population rate. Our excesses, a portion of which is a result of our land mass, and suburban sprawl, is clearly a problem for other nations, as well as ourselves.

After 34 years in office, McConnell has been  a major force behind the meteoric rise in the US carbon emissions rate. In fact, during McConnell’s Senate leadership tenure, rather than galvanize the US public to lead the way in dramatic carbon eduction, his record highlights the opposite. McConnell has been a steely carbon emissions reduction obstructionist, blocking every piece of legislation in his power that mandated restrictions on carbon.

McConnell was the voice Trump listed to when he pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement back in 2017.

Today, in 2019, the world’s population is  7.7 billion, with the U.S. population only at 4.3% of total… 329.1 million Americans. Sadly though, we are currently ranked #1 in cumulative carbon emissions, clocking in at a rate of 397 Gt CO2. China, with it’s 1.1 billion citizens, only emits 214 Gt CO2.

We have a lot of work to do to make things right. Our excesses are killing innocent children and families around the world. The immigration crisis at our southern border is directly related to climate change across low lying Central America and its rising water levels. We are in desperate need of the public’s commitment to tangible action. Reducing carbon is so much easier than we realize.

The most important action we can accomplish as quickly as possible is removing Mitch McConnell from office, and neutralizing his negative impact on the #ClimateCrisis in his remaining few months in office.

Immigration Crisis Solved Years Ago | So Then, What is Trump Up To?

Washington (Gallant Gold Media Hill Report | Analysis | June 25, 2019) –  Is either Donald Trump or Stephen Miller aware that National Archives was established for the sole purpose of keeping biased morons like Trump and Miller from making the deadly mistakes these two are responsible for at our southern border?

Millions of documents dating back to 1st Congress, March 4, 1789, have been archived in a massive stone building, that sits half way between the Capitol and the White House, to aid our elected representatives, and our president. Look to the past to guide the future.

Scientists, medical professionals, the military, mathematicians, musicians… every profession and industry knows to study the past to guide the future. So then why not Donald Trump or Stephen Miller? This tragic and traumatic border crisis, inflicting heart wrenching pain and trauma, destroying families, injuring children, causing the demise of way too many, is inhumane and completely unAmerican.

The United States is the land of immigrants. There are literally several million documents regarding past immigration  policies and procedures that have been preserved in the National Archives so that we can do better today and in the future. There’s no justification whatsoever for destroying thousands and thousands of lives and families. It’s reprehensible. It’s predatory. It’s a crime against humanity.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breath free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door.” ~Lady Liberty poem

Screen Shot 2019-06-25 at 3.37.33 PM.png

So then, with so many vast resources and such wise guidance immediately available, why would Stephen Miller and Donald Trump dive into this cruel, evil sadistic approach? Or was that their intention all along.

It appears Trump and Miller are indeed relying on the past to guide their decision making regarding current border security. Hitler’s past. There are significant corallaries between Trump’s detention camps and Hitler’s concentration camps.

Further, prior to Hitler annihilating 6 million Jews in his gas chambers, Hitler’s initial strategy was to deport all Jews living in  Europe to the island of Madagascar off the Southeastern Coast of Africa.  Hitler proposed expelling one million Jews per year for four straight years. When this failed, Hitler threw up his hands and said something to the effect, “To hell with it. I’ll just murder them all”… and then immediately proceeded to do so.

Thus it appears Trump and Stephen Miller have intentionally concocted this savage, barbaric immigration solution. When dozens of very successful immigration policies, that have served our nation effectively for more than two centuries, are neatly categorized and stored within walking distance from the White House, but are ignored and kept hidden by Trump, the intention becomes self-evident.

Trump’s barbaric border security strategy is intentional, and criminal. This alone is grounds for Trump’s removal from office.

Is Border Wall A Cover For Russian Nuclear Subs In Gulf of Mexico?

Washington (Gallant Gold Media Hill Report | Opinion | April 6, 2019) –  As Russian collusion fever starts to escalate again, following a week of aggressive “collusion delusion” posturing by Trump, the one piece of the puzzle we must remember to factor into the equation is Russia’s monitoring of, and reaction to, the Trump|Russia election interference collusion political firestorm.

Is Trump intentionally trying to provide Russia cover to sneak undetected into the Gulf of Mexico and test their new stealth weapon systems, while Trump distracts the American public, and our military, by demanding all eyes be locked onto the southern border? And that troops be sent there as well. Staggering number of families destroyed, billions of dollars spent, endless hours debating whether a physical wall is logical or relevant in protecting the southern border from what amounts to a vast majority of asylum seeking women, children and families seeking safety and protection.

Since the wall along the southern border seems so pathetic and irrational, one can’t help but wonder what Trump’s ulterior motives might be? Distraction. Russian systems testing. A classic magic trick. It’s time to ponder the possibility.

“‘NATO members are alarmed by the growing threat from Russian submarines, and are investing more resources to deal with it,’ and Jorge Benitez, a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council who previously served as the lead on NATO issues for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. ‘Under Putin, Russia has deployed new, stealthier sumbmarines in the North Atlantic that are much harder for NATO navies to track.'” ~David B. Later, Defense News

Back in December 2018, there were a few weeks of twitter positings about the nuclear submarines that have been sneaking in and out of U.S. waters in the Gulf of Mexico for several decades.

Screen Shot 2019-04-05 at 11.11.44 PM.png

And then just a few weeks ago, more posts about the new Russian stealth nuclear subs being tested out in the waters.

Screen Shot 2019-04-06 at 1.22.19 AM.png

Perhaps there were several alarming issues that Mattis and Trump didn’t see eye to eye on, not just Syria. In fact, this nuclear threat is 1,000 times more alarming than the southern border. Why isn’t Trump concerned about this national security threat?

Screen Shot 2019-04-06 at 1.21.56 AM.png

Russia and Cuba have been allies since 1959, but in early November 2018 Russia and Cuba agreed to strengthen ties in 2019. Havana, Cuba is 90 miles from Key West. Russia is also bolstering relationships with other despots in Central America.

Screen Shot 2019-04-05 at 11.03.17 PM.png

Translation of Trump’s bizarre, dangerous, life-threatening policies often takes time and research. But now that this Gulf of Mexico/Russian sub scenario seems highly probable – and that when Trump rages about the southern border wall, Russia is likely maneuvering and testing in the Gulf of Mexico or vicinity – if we can begin to believe that this sequence of events might be accurate, it may help our military save time and money detecting our arch enemy. Perhaps Trump’s border wall tweets, and visits to the border states, can be used as an early detection warning for Russian testing off the U.S. coastline.

Sexual Assault of Children on Our Border

Washington (Gallant Gold Media Hill Report | Perspective | February 27, 2019) –  The House Family Separation Hearings this week were suffocating in the realization of how massive the family separation crisis is, how many thousands of innocent children have been emotionally, and many sexually, assaulted by staff, and the horrible prognosis this creates for their future.

How can these staggering statistics be the harsh reality that so many young children have to endure? “Follow your dreams.” … “America, the beacon of hope.” The reality is that much more perilous to cope with when idealistic youth are fleeing traumatic events, are on the run far from home, away from their families, with the only thing enabling them to persevere through the treacherous journey is the bright beacon on their horizon, endlessly pushing them forward through each and every stumbling block. But when they arrive, there’s no Lady Liberty greeting them along the Southern Border. No open arms. Just abuse .

“I’m deeply concerned with the high number of sexual assaults on unaccompanied children in the custody of the office of Refugees and Resettlement.” …  “One sexual assault per week.” ~Rep Ted Deutch

“The Forced Child Separation Policy will forever be a dark time in our nation’s history. It undermines our moral standing in the world, that generations of Americans have worked so hard, and in some cases given their lives, to build.” ~Rep Ted Deutch

The facts that won’t won’t change unless we demand accountability and consequences:

  • systemic sexual assaults by staff on unaccompanied children
  • 154 allegations of sexual assault reported to DOJ
  • 1 sexual assault per week
  • there’s a huge problem with adults abusing children
  • Rep Ted Deutch is pointing out that DHS was fully aware that this was an alarming issue, that there was documented history, yet DHS still placed thousands of unaccompanied children in this dangerous environment
  • “the details of these sexual abuse allegations are shocking”

Tell Congress… we must move forward in demanding this threat to children be eliminated.
